ChemiCloud and A2 Hosting are two popular WordPress Hosting providers. They both offer a variety of features and pricing options to suit the needs of different customers.

Quick Overview:

Performance-wise, the Starter plan of both A2 Hosting and ChemiCloud are poor; I don’t recommend them.

While ChemiCloud is good at load handling, it has got poor uptime. Hence, You can buy their Pro or Turbo plan, which has lesser downtime.

A2 Hosting is good at TTFB and uptime. However, their load handling is poor due to the Apache Web server. Hence, I recommend their Turbo Boost and Turbo Max plans which have LiteSpeed servers.

ChemiCloud vs A2 Hosting – Introduction

ChemiCloud was founded in 2016 and is pretty popular in the Shared Hosting category. It includes the latest technical specifications of LiteSpeed, Memcached, etc.

A2 Hosting is a blazing-fast Hosting service that started in 2003. The company offers Shared, VPS, WordPress, and Dedicated Server hosting.

A2 Hosting

I bought the starter hosting account from both hosting companies and installed a demo site on both hosts. I’ve been tracking the performance of both hosts for 20+ months now.

ChemiCloud vs A2 Hosting: Performance

1. Both ChemiCloud and A2 hosting offers fast TTFB

Based on 12 months of data, I found ChemiCloud, with an average response time of 343ms, and A2 Hosting, recorded an average response time of 323ms.

The difference is just 20ms, so both the hosting companies are equally good in TTFB.

2. A2 has better uptime.

The following important factor to check was the uptime, and I tested ChemiCloud and A2 Hosting sites for 12 months.

While ChemiCloud reflected an uptime of 99.89%, A2 Hosting had an uptime of 99.95%.

A2 Hosting is a clear winner here with better uptime.

3. ChemiCloud handles the Load better than A2 Hosting.

This test was done to see which host performs better when the site has bulk traffic.

In this test, 500 simultaneous visitors are sent to the site.

While A2 took 102ms, ChemiCloud took 62ms to handle the request. (Lower the response time value, the faster your server is.)

Overall when it comes to loading testing, ChemiCloud is the winner. The primary reason for the success of ChemiCloud is its LiteSpeed Web servers, while A2 Hosting uses Apache Web Servers on their starter plans. Only the Turbo Plan of A2 comes with LiteSpeed.

ChemiCloud vs A2 Hosting: Features

1. Data Center Locations

ChemiCloud has 11 data center locations across the USA, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

You can choose between these server locations to serve your content to your audience from the closest location.

ChemiCloud gets a leading edge over A2 Hosting regarding the number of data center locations.

A2 Hosting has 4 data center locations across the USA, Europe, and Asia.

2. Control Panel

Regarding controlling panels, both web hosting providers come with cPanel, which happens to be the most popular control panel.

Further, using a cPanel should not be very difficult, and even if you are a beginner, you can get the hang of it in just about 10 minutes.

3. CDN

Both A2 Hosting and ChemiCloud use Cloudflare CDN and offer you the advantage of over 200 global locations.

Cloudflare helps you serve your content to your audience at lightning-fast speed.

4. Backups

Backing up your website data regularly is extremely necessary; this is where a good backup system comes into play.

However, both A2 and ChemiCloud do an excellent job of offering automatic daily backups on all plans.

Restoring the backup is also ridiculously simple. Hence, you hardly have to worry about the backup of your site.

5. Staging sites

ChemiCloud provides customers with website staging on all plans, and the feature allows you to create a clone of your production site to test things such as updates, plugins, themes, and more.

After trying to find something okay for your site, you could quickly deploy them to your production site.

ChemiCloud allows you to do this using the softaculous app installer. A2 will enable you to create staging sites in the same way. Hence, there is no difference.

6. Security

ChemiCloud also has rock-solid security that comprises custom web application firewall rules, real-time 24/7 server monitoring, and HTTPS -encryption with Let’s Encrypt SSL.

A2 is known for its perpetual security, characterized by KernelCare rebootless kernel updates, brute force defense, a dual firewall, and (DDoS) Protection.

Both the host is solid when it comes to security.

ChemiCloud vs A2 Hosting Support

ChemiCloud Support has been very impressive over the years. The support team has done an exceptional job in addressing and resolving their customer’s technical issues to their best through 24×7 live chat, tickets, and phone.

The A2 support team is best known as the Guru Crew and is ranked among the industry’s best support teams. The Guru Crew offers brilliant technical assistance through 24×7 live chat, tickets, and phone. The team has exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly executives.
