ChemiCloud Vs. FastComet: Performance

Server Response Time

Performance matters a lot in site ranking these days, and that’s why you must look for a hosting service with excellent performance. However, most people take performance as speed alone which is not entirely correct. In fact, performance has many other aspects, such as uptime, load handling capacity, Global TTFB, and Core Web Vitals.

To begin the performance analysis, let me start with the server response time or, in other words, the site speed. For testing, I hosted a site with each of the two services, and since then, I have constantly been monitoring them using the Pingdom tool.

My ChemiCloud site recorded an average server response time of 347 ms, according to my last server response time test. In comparison, my Bluehost site recorded an average server response time of 460 ms. My FastComet site recorded an average server response time of 322 ms.

Going by the results, it shouldn’t be really hard to determine which one of these services has a better server response time, and FastComet is incredibly fast for sure. However, there is no denying the fact that ChemiCloud also has a decent server response time.

Uptime

Without a stable uptime, nothing will work for sure, and the chances are that your site will consistently fail to impact the audience. That’s why you must pay close attention to this factor. I usually keep up with the uptime of various hosting services.

In my last uptime test, my ChemiCloud site recorded an uptime of 100% without any outage, while my FastComet site recorded an uptime of 99.99% with an outage that lasted for 2m 34s.

Hence, ChemiCloud has a more reliable uptime than FastComet. However, FastComet’s uptime is also pretty reliable.

Load Testing

It is also essential to ensure that the hosting platform you choose is powerful enough to handle high traffic. Online stores are especially more vulnerable to traffic spikes, and sometimes, traffic spikes can get your site down for hours. This is where the load testing comes into play. I perform load testing frequently on my demo sites to keep up the load handling ability of various hosting services.

Load testing involves sending 1000 concurrent traffic to the sites in 1 minute and monitoring the way they handle it. For example, in my last load testing performed on my ChemiCloud and FastComet sites, my ChemiCloud site recorded 37 ms in Clients Per Test (1000 Clients in 1 Minute) while FastComet site scored 45 ms in Clients Per Test (1000 Clients in 1 min). Hence, you can see both ChemiCloud and FastComet have good load handling capacity. However, ChemiCloud has a slightly better load handling capacity than FastComet.

Global TTFB

If you are up to hosting a site with multiple global locations to drive traffic from, you must ensure that the hosting service you choose has the excellent Global TTFB. I have been monitoring the Global TTFB of various hosting services. I do it by pinging the demo sites from as many as ten global locations and monitoring the TTFB across the ten locations.

As per my last Global TTFB tests performed on my ChemiCloud and FastComet sites, my ChemiCloud site recorded an average TTFB of 406.74 ms with extremely decent TTFB over all the ten places. The site recorded the lowest TTFB in Dallas with 17.16 ms and the highest TTFB in Bangalore with 774.36 ms.

My FastComet site had an average TTFB of 371.84 ms and had decent TTFB in all ten places. However, the lowest TTFB was in New York with 20.35 ms and the highest TTFB in Sydney with 696.6 ms. Hence, both ChemiCloud and FastComet are very reliable in Global TTFB, and FastComet is slightly better.

Core Web Vitals

Sites put a lot of effort into delivering a brilliant user experience since user experience has become an important ranking factor these days. However, when it comes to improving the user experience, most of it depends on the hosting platform itself. With a well-chosen hosting platform, a site can get a lot of help in improving the user experience.

You must be wondering what the way to determine which hosting platform offers the best user experience is. Well, this is determined by the Core Web Vitals of a hosting service. I constantly keep up with the core web vitals of different web hosting services.

According to my last Core Web Vitals test performed on my ChemiCloud and FastComet sites, my ChemiCloud site recorded a ‘Largest Contentful Paint’ of 0.736s, a ‘Total Blocking Time’ of 0.000s, and a ‘Cumulative Layout Shift” of 0. In contrast, my FastComet site recorded a ‘Largest Contentful Paint’ of 0.690 s, a ‘Total Blocking time’ of 0.021s, and a ‘Cumulative Layout Shift’ of 0.

Based on the test results, sites can say that both the hosting services can be largely relied upon in Core Web Vitals. However, ChemiCloud has no Total Blocking Time, which makes it even better than FastComet.

ChemiCloud Vs. FastComet: Features

Data Center locations

Hosting a site from the closest data center location to the target audience is considered the best practice in hosting. For that, you have to ensure that the hosting service you select has the desired data center location. Besides, it’s wise to select a hosting service with multiple data center locations.

ChemiCloud provides customers with 7 data center locations across Europe, the USA, and Asia to select from, while FastComet has 11 data center locations across the US, Europe, and Asia. Hence, customers have a greater chance to find their desired data center locations with these services and a slightly more chance with FastComet.

CDN

Content Delivery Network or CDNs are exceptionally effective in improving the site speed, and both ChemiCloud and FastComet provide customers with FREE Cloudflare CDN on all plans. Cloudflare is a very powerful CDN that gives sites various advantages such as reverse proxy caching, auto minification, image optimization, and gzip compression. Most importantly, Cloudflare largely helps in reducing the bandwidth and server’s CPU usage, which helps sites with a blazing fast speed.

Staging

If you want to test different changes before deploying them to your live site, you certainly need the feature called Staging. Both ChemiCloud and FastComet have the same approach towards Staging.

Both allow the customers to create Staging sites for FREE through the Softaculous Apps Installer in the cPanel. The process is exceptionally simple and doesn’t need much technical knowledge. After you finish testing and have some final changes to push to the live site, you could easily deploy them in just one click. This is how simple it is.

Backup

If you haven’t thought of the backup system yet, you must give it a good thought since, without a proper backup system, you can lose your site anytime. As far as the backup system of the two services goes, ChemiCloud comes with an exceptionally robust backup system in place, characterized by FREE automated daily backups on all the plans. Besides, the service also provides customers with exceptionally seamless and easy restoration.

FastComet also comes with an equally effective backup system, and just like ChemiCloud, FastComet also offers FREE automated daily backups on all plans. In addition, restoring backups is also exceptionally simple in FastComet.

Security

Website security is extremely important and must be given adequate attention when hosting a site considering the various increasing number of Bruteforce and other malware attacks these days.

As I looked into the security aspect of the two services, I found both to be very reliable. Chemicloud has an extremely robust security setup that comprises custom web application firewall rules, real-time 24/7 server monitoring, and HTTPS -encryption with Let’s Encrypt SSL.

FastComet has a brilliant security system in place and traffic encryption by Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates, Web Application Firewall, and Malware Scan in conjunction with FREE BitNinja security on all plans.

Support

Technical difficulties are pretty common in web hosting. However, a good support service can save you from being stuck with technical issues for long. If I consider the support service of ChemiCloud, it is extremely dependable with the most knowledgeable executives to assist the customers 24/7 through live chat, tickets, and phone.

FastComet, on the other hand, has one of the finest support teams with the most dedicated and experienced executives. The FastComet support is extremely fast and has done a tremendous job over the years. In addition, the FastComet support team helps the customers 24/7 through live chat, phone, and tickets.

I have tried both live chat and tickets and found them to be very fast. While it takes merely 10 to 15 seconds to connect to the live chat, tickets are resolved in 15 minutes. This is how fast and effective the FastComet support service is.

Key Highlights

  • FastComet plans are comparatively cheaper than the ChemiCloud plans.
  • FastComet has a better server response time.
  • ChemiCloud has better uptime and core web vitals than FastComet.

Summary: Both ChemiCloud and FastComet are very much similar to each other. According to me, ChemiCloud offers best value for money as it offers free domain for life and a faster performance. On the other hand, FastComet offers lowest sign up price and you can even pay with monthly billing.
