Mohan Raj is the founder of Hostingstep.com, a data-driven web hosting review platform. Since founding the platform in 2016, he has personally overseen the testing of 30+ hosting providers with accounts purchased indepdently. All the testing are done with standardized testing methodology.
Hostingstep’s methodology includes testing TTFB and uptime (525,600 checks per provider per year), load handling test, WPBenchmark hardware performance test, Global TTFB and Core Web Vitals test. All these tests are made with a controlled setup: WordPress with Twenty Twenty-Four theme, PHP 8.3, and set of plugins (Rank Math, Contact Form 7, Akismet) to simulate a real-world site.
